ABOUT THE ARTIST

Growing up in the small, coastal town of Narragansett, Rhode Island

I have always been drawn to the ocean, identifying with the power and vulnerability of the water's movement. The Ocean has always been a source of inspiration within my paintings. I started drawing at a very early age and knew someday I wanted to become an artist. Years later, I attended The Art Institute of Boston. It was there I became fascinated with so many different styles of painting and techniques. I was heavily influenced by many different artists such as, William Turner, Edward Hopper, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Anselm Kiefer to name a few. I knew I had become a painter.

Boston was the perfect city for me to transform into an artist. Having many group and solo exhibitions I learned how to present my work in different settings. Currently residing in Wakefield, Rhode Island I . I am constantly able to catch different lighting throughout the day, which highly influences the overall mood of each painting. I do not consider myself a realist painter. Instead, I try to focus on the mood or the feeling that is born when observing my work.
